In the News: Missing Painting

The U.K.'s Telegraphy, recently reported an apartment in Paris that has been locked up and untouched for over 70 years. In that cobweb-filled flat, they discovered a painting worth millions. This valuable work of art is by Italian artist, Giovanni Boldini, which recently sold for $2.9 Million at auction. The painting's subject is rumored to be Boldini's muse, Marthe de Florian.
Among other amazing discoveries, they also found a love note left my the artist to Florian. The apartment belonged to FLorian's granddaughter, who recently passed away at the age of 91.

You might be asking, "Why leave an apartment locked up and untouched for so long?" According to the Telegraph, the granddaughter left the apartment just before the start of WWII and never returned. After passing away, experts were sent to catalogue the inventory. One of them noted, "... It was like stumbling into the castle of Sleeping Beauty..."
